How I teach
I’m Tim Rusli, a Math and Physics tutor with a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics from Rutgers University. I explain things in more than one way until it clicks for each student. I like to get creative, with my own explanations, math tricks and memory tools that make formulas easier to remember.
In the first session I find where your student is strong and where the gaps are. From there, I break hard problems into small, clear steps and ask guiding questions, so students learn to solve problems on their own. I keep parents updated on progress along the way.
What parents say
“We’ve had Tim tutoring our daughter since fourth grade, and now she’s in fifth. The improvement we’ve seen, especially in math, has been amazing… I feel like she’s slowly developing a genuine love for math, and that’s not always easy to do.”
Omar, parent (via Google)
“Timothy is an excellent Math tutor. He worked with my son during his junior year. My son struggled with his AP Pre Calculus class until he started working with Timothy. My son passed the year with an A.”
Donna N., parent (via Google)
“As a parent, I’ve found it challenging to teach myself the ‘new math’ methods so I can help my children with their homework… My children actually look forward to their math sessions.”

Questions
Does my child need to be behind to get tutoring?
Not at all. I work with students who are catching up, keeping up, and getting ahead, including Honors and AP students.
Can you help with homework from my child’s school?
Yes. I often review homework and test results, go over mistakes, and make sure the ideas behind them make sense.
Do you tutor online?
Yes. Online sessions are over Zoom and work the same way as in person.
